Could you play some minor league or independent league baseball and still go to school?
Like if your going to be a doctor or something and you don’t make the college team or the college doesn’t have a team. Could you just do some school in the off season or is that not possible?
You can still go to school. A lot of teams will write into their contracts as a stipulation that they will pay for a player to go to school. You just can’t play ball for a college if you’ve played pro. But there is an exception depending on what level you were playing at and how many games played. There was an Outside the Lines piece on Danny Almonte recently that said he was allowed to go back and play in college even though he had played pro somewhere.
