How can I remove metal spikes from my cleats?

I purchased a pair of cleats for my baseball league, only to find out later that Metal Spikes were not permitted in the league. (Probably should have found this out earlier.)

put black electrical tape / or duct tape on the metal part of the spike so it will seem like their not metal.
